Gagnon Walker Domes Ltd. (“GWD”) was established in 1990. The Firm is comprised of a team of dedicated planning and design professionals who have the necessary experience and skills required to successfully manage a wide range of planning and design projects.
GWD provides land use planning and design consulting services to a broad and diverse client base including builders, developers, public agencies, special interest groups, as well as professionals and private citizens.
The Firm is committed to delivering technically sound, timely and feasible land use planning solutions. A team-oriented approach to the management of the development approvals process provides outstanding client service. Services and opinions are practical, as opposed to theoretical, resulting in viable value added planning solutions.
GWD has extensive industry and government contacts within the Greater Toronto Area and throughout the Province of Ontario which is an asset in advancing clients’ interests. Michael Gagnon, Managing Principal Planner, Founding Partner
Michael Gagnon, graduate of the
University of Waterloo (Bachelor of Environmental Studies – Honours Urban and
Regional Planning, 1984). Established
Gagnon Walker Domes Ltd. in 1990.
Michael has a broad base of experience garnered from decades of private sector service. Since the Planning Firm’s inception, he has consulted and served as advisor on over 3,000 assignments. His planning and project management experience has contributed to the advancement and implementation of a diverse portfolio of developments; including numerous landmark residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects.
Michael is highly respected as a planning and development consultant. He is a full member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), and a Member of Lambda Alpha International (Simcoe Chapter). He has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012) and the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal, also awarded by Queen Elizabeth II (1992).
Michael is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Firm, and he provides project management services and is qualified to provide expert opinion evidence in the field of land use planning before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT).
Andrew Walker, Principal Planner, Partner
Andrew Walker is a Principal Planner and
Partner of Gagnon Walker Domes Ltd. with over twenty-five (25) years of private
sector planning experience. He is a
graduate of the University of Waterloo (Bachelor of Environmental Studies –
Urban and Regional Planning, 2000). Andrew
joined the Firm in 2005, becoming a Principal Planner and Partner in 2016. He is a is a full member of the Ontario
Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planners
(CIP).
Andrew has experience in providing planning opinion and project management services in connection with numerous development applications, ranging in complexity from basic to complex, within various municipalities within the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario. He is experienced at preparing Planning Investigation and Feasibility Studies and Planning Justification Reports assessing conformity and consistency with Provincial, Regional and local planning documents and guidelines.
Andrew provides project management services and is qualified to provide expert opinion evidence in the field of land use planning before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT).
Richard Domes, Principal Planner, Partner
Richard Domes is a Principal Planner and Partner of Gagnon Walker Domes Ltd. with over twenty (20) years of private sector planning experience. He is a graduate of Mohawk College (Diploma Regional and Urban Planning – GIS, 2006), and University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Arts, 2004). Richard joined Gagnon Walker Domes Ltd. in 2006, becoming Principal Planner and Partner in 2016. He is a full member of the Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians.
Richard has extensive experience providing planning and design opinions and project management services in support of a wide range of planning/development proposals within various municipalities, with a focus on urban redevelopment and intensification projects. He has a broad range of experience with low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise residential, office, mixed-use, retail and hospitality projects.
Richard provides project management services and is qualified to provide expert opinion evidence in the field of land use planning before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT).
