Deeksha Choudhry

Deeksha Choudhry is a heritage planner who has recently completed her postgraduate degree in Architectural Conservation from the University of Edinburgh. She became interested in Indigenous traditional knowledge and learning while pursuing her undergraduate degree in planning from the University of Waterloo. Her postgraduate dissertation focused on studying the erasure of First Nations’ heritage through the process of colonization in Canada and ways to preserve it moving forward. Always eager to learn and share, she is very interested in exploring ways by which Indigenous communities can heal and prosper, and as a planner, what lessons can be apply in settler societies to create sustainable, inclusive communities.
