Your Opportunity to Make a Difference
Reporting to the Director of Development Services, the Planner is generally responsible for responding to public inquires and working with other municipal staff, agencies, citizens and developers in the review and processing of planning applications made under the Planning Act and any processes under the Municipal Act or other legislation assigned to the Development Department. Responsibilities of the position include the implementation and interpretation of municipal by-laws relevant to planning and development proposals. The Planner will process applications including zoning amendments, official plan amendments, plans of subdivisions, condominiums, site plans and minor variance applications. The Planner will also manage key projects including the review of the Official Plan and the Comprehensive Zoning By-law when necessary.

Perform the responsibilities of this position within the legislative and regulatory standards as set out in applicable legislation, regulations, and By-laws as well as all practices and procedures established in the Township’s documents or as directed by the Director of Development Services.
