EMPLOYER: Corporation of the Town of Kingsville LOCATION: Kingsvile, ON DEADLINE DATE: August 26, 2022 Working closely with and reporting to the Manager of Planning, the Planner will be responsible for the processing of planning applications under the Planning Act. The Planner is also responsible for providing planning advice and opinions to the Manager of Planning, Committee of Adjustment, Committee of the Whole, Administration, Council, and members of the public in connection with all aspects of planning and development within the Town.
Major Responsibilities
1. Pre-consult with applicants, conduct site inspections as required, research and prepare planning reports, and liaise with other municipal departments through the Technical Advisory Committee in order to appropriately process the following applications under the Planning Act:
2. With direction from the Manager of Planning, lead municipal responsibilities related to the Committee of Adjustment, including, but not limited to:
3. Work with the Manager of Planning to:
4. Lead municipal responsibilities related to Heritage, including:
5. Assist the Director, Community and Development Services and Manager of Planning on special projects related to planning, including Main Street revitalization, façade improvement plans, and community improvement plans and other policy initiatives.
6. Process and administer property standards complaints and provide the Committee of Adjustment and Appeals with support by preparation of the agenda, notices, reports and any other assigned task.
7. In consultation with Engineering and Infrastructure Services, plan and coordinate the development of municipal trails, CWAT trails, and other Active Transportation initiatives.
8. Act as a resource and attend meetings of Statutory, Standing or Ad Hoc Committees related to Heritage, active transportation and economic development, as required.
9. Provide a professional planning response to inquiries or otherwise communicate with the public, developers, local government or other agencies regarding issues related to planning.
10. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Working Conditions
Work within an office environment with office hours being 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week). Will be required to attend Committee and Council meetings during the day and evening hours as required.
Wage Rate
$87,587- $109,484 (Salary Group 7).
Comprehensive benefits package, Non-union position.
