We’re currently looking for a temporary full–time Senior Planner for approximately 12 months – with a potential extension. The Senior Planner will be assisting our Planning & Development team on its journey to successfully manage the growing development within our county. An ideal candidate for the Senior Planner position is a dedicated self-starter individual with a passion for land & policy development and proven experience in delivering excellent customer service to its stakeholders.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Planning and Development, the incumbent will:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
University degree – four years or equivalent (Planning or related field), or equivalent. PLUS
OR equivalent to the combination above.
Must be a member in good standing of Canadian Institute of Planners (C.I.P.) and a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) in the Province of Ontario.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures
COMPUTER EXPERTISE:
Level 4 - The incumbent must possess intermediate and advanced computer skills scored at 65% or higher for Outlook and at least one of Word / Excel / PowerPoint to ensure their:

Project manage various major and complex projects and programs, including issue-specific and general policy initiatives.
Other:
Prepare and give expert planning testimony at Local Planning Tribunal (LPAT) hearings individually or in consultation with the County Solicitor.
