Data standard for planning and development applications

In January 2022, the Ontario government announced that it would be working on a new Streamline Development Approval Fund to help Ontario’s largest municipalities modernize, streamline and accelerate processes for managing and approving housing applications. Since then, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) has reached out to organizations, including OPPI, to participate in shaping a new initiative – a data standard for planning and development applications. It is expected that the first step is to develop a roadmap that will detail next steps and guide the longer-term co-creation and implementation of the new standard. OPPI is committed to update our membership as new information is shared.
