REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL PLANNERS TACKLE INDUSTRY ISSUES AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE
The Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) is hosting their annual conference in Ottawa, Ontario, this fall.
From September 20 to 22, the OPPI conference will explore how Registered Professional Planners (RPPs) navigate the profession’s rapidly changing landscape to emerge as qualified leaders who bring communities together in the public interest.
The OPPI conference will highlight relevant topics impacting the profession, including housing affordability and supply, changing demographics, representation of equity-deserving groups, advancements in technology, and more.
“The planning profession continues to evolve and adapt to change, so it’s vital that RPPs continue to be part of the conversation—and part of the solution.” says Paul Lowes, RPP, OPPI President, and principal at SGL Planning & Design Inc. “As professional planners, we have an important role to play in setting future communities up for success. This conference is the place to find inspiration for what lies ahead.”
At the OPPI conference, professionals and industry experts from across Ontario will gather, face to face, for two and a half days of insightful keynote speakers, thoughtful panel discussions, and meaningful breakout sessions. Programming for the conference will also be available online for those who wish to attend virtually.
As Canada’s capital, and within OPPI’s Eastern District, Ottawa is the perfect place for Registered Professional Planners to come together to experience the city’s vibrant neighbourhoods and unique blend of urban and rural beauty. Ottawa was built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation. The City of Ottawa, and OPPI, honours the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation, as well as all First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples for their stewardship and care of this Land we now share.
More details will be released soon including the call for presentations.
