There is a general awareness among planners around “climate change” and most of us could offer an elevator pitch synopsis of the context and meaning for our communities. However, increasingly we’re being called upon to be more explicit in our understanding and direction. How exactly is climate forecasted to change in your part of Ontario and under what time frame? What is the range of impacts to consider? Are there best practices in adaptation? The goal of this session is to introduce participants to the materials and tools needed to tackle these questions and through exploring the case study of transportation in Ontario, gain understanding on how to employ them in practice. Learning Objectives: Gain understanding of how specifically climate change forecasting works Collectively inventory impacts and risks Learn about adaptions and where to start Leave with exposure to resources they can incorporate into their practice
