WET Infrastructure: Building Blue and Green

Climate change has increased the frequency and severity of storm events throughout Ontario, contributing to overwhelmed stormwater systems and greater risks of urban flooding. Blue-green infrastructure offers an emerging set of landscape design technologies, based on ecological processes and multi-functionality for hydrological challenges. However, it does not fit easily into current municipal structures. This session will provide examples of new approaches to stormwater management.
