Manager of Planning and Environment, County of Wellington

Mark Van Patter has an extensive background in agriculture, resources management and natural heritage. Prior to coming to the County of Wellington in 1990, Mark worked with the Long Point Region Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources, Federation of Ontario Naturalists, University of Guelph and the Natural Heritage Stewardship Program. 
 
Mark currently serves as the local, consulting planner for the Town of Minto and the Townships of Wellington North and Mapleton as well as a County planner. He has appeared before the Ontario Municipal Board on numerous occasions as an expert planning witness. Mark’s expertise includes natural heritage planning, soils and agriculture, aggregate resources and rural land use planning in general. He also Chairs the Green Legacy Committee, manages the County Forest Tracts and the Forest Conservation By-law. 
 
Mark is a Registered Professional Planner, and a full member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.
