702C: Green Infrastructure for Climate Adaptation – How Visualization and Economic Analysis Can Build the Case

October 02, 2019

4:25PM - 4:40PM

Supported by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, the Green Infrastructure Foundation has engaged communities across Ontario to value the many benefits of green infrastructure and to visualize how its widespread implementation will transform communities. The combination of visuals and economic analysis builds a strong case for planners to inform elected officials, developers, and the public to implement and support green infrastructure to make our communities healthier, more sustainable and resililient. In this session, participants can gain an understanding in how to use economic analysis to bolster the business case for green infrastructure, find out how tools developed by the Green Infrasructure Foundation can help gain buy-in on green infrastucture and how to leverage climate change funding to generate other community benefits.
