In order to talk about accessibility and inclusion, you need to understand ableism and in particular, Modern Western ableism. Focusing on structural and systemic ableism, this workshop will take participants on a quick journey from the past to the present and will raise questions about whether we are creating the future we want. Big concepts are codified into tiny bylaws and sometimes it’s as much about what is not said as what is. The choices made in policy and practice define who is included and who is excluded by design.
