September 21 and 22
2 days, 2 disciplines, 2 ways to participate – defining our professional roles and uniting to build more equitable, accessible and inspired communities.
#2GETHER2022
The arrival of autonomous vehicles has sparked volumes of exploratory conversations, speculative analysis, and rigorous research. Across the scales of planning - rural to metropolitan - this activity has been directed at key questions about the implications of AVs for communities. One key decision point concerns AV ownership and use - often with dystopian prospects associated with private AV use versus more utopian prospects under a shared use model..This workshop will give participants a chance to learn about AV’s ,and through real use case studies (each at a different community scale), discuss and explore the implications for planners and planning. Participants will gain an understanding of the potential implications of AVs for their community and share ideas on how to prepare for an AV future.
