2 days, 2 disciplines, 2 ways to participate – defining our professional roles and uniting to build more equitable, accessible and inspired communities.
#2GETHER2022
While there are a number of robust, regional vulnerability assessments completed for various sectors across the Region of Peel, there is a need to obtain local knowledge, perceptions and observations to inform climate actions at the neighbourhood level. Climate Ready County Court is one of the first Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Plans to be done at the neighbourhood scale and is a collaboration of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), City of Brampton, Region of Peel and local Neighbourhood Association. It builds on momentum of the Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP) underway in the area. In this session, participants will be able to identify best practices for neighbourhood-scale climate change planning, learn how to develop a shared plan in a way that is scalable and transferable, and learn ways to engage communities in fun, creative activities to drive the development and implementation of adaptation strategies.
