2 days, 2 disciplines, 2 ways to participate – defining our professional roles and uniting to build more equitable, accessible and inspired communities.
#2GETHER2022
This session will identify some of the ways that the City of Toronto is addressing the key issue of climate change. It will focus on how the Public Energy Initiatives - New Development Team has integrated land-use and energy planning to ensure that all new development – including the City’s own projects – respond to city-wide climate change policies. Particpants will learn about the ways to use municipal planning policy and the development review process to address climate change, learn about the opportunities and challenges with voluntary approaches and minimum requirements and learn more about how Toronto’s new Etobicoke Civic Centre Precinct will be low-carbon and resilient to climate change.
