#2GETHER2022
With construction beginning in Summer 2019, and fully underway during OPPI19: Beyond25, the revitalization of the Bathurst Quay neighbourhood consists of overlapping projects to improve public spaces connecting the neighbourhood, Billy Bishop Airport and Toronto’s waterfront. Add to this the restoration of historic waterfront buildings with new cultural and community uses, remediating a derelict waterfront brownfield site and reduction of the airport’s parking and transportation footprint. There’s a lot to see at the foot of Toronto’s waterfront and participants can learn how multiple City of Toronto divisions and external partners are working together to deliver this project. Individual projects include: • Rehabilitation of the Western Channel dock wall rebuilt with an attractive waterfront promenade • Repair and repurpose the historic Administrative Building as a new arts, community and cultural hub on the waterfront with the Ireland Park Foundation • Redesign the Eireann Quay right-of-way with enhanced focus on pedestrian safety and amenities • Reduce Ports Toronto’s transportation footprint on the city-owned Canada Malting property • Visual enhancements to the historic Canada Malting silos • Construction of a new public plaza and event space on a portion of the city-owned Canada Malting property
