#2GETHER2022
As the climate crisis gathers speed, our future depends on slashing the fossil fuels we burn, starting now. But Ontario is going in the wrong direction. Our climate pollution is driven primarily by our land use policy: what gets built where. Contrary to good planning, Ontario spreads low-density, high-fuel-use suburbs far and wide, giving people little alternative to car-based commutes that are ever longer and more congested. At the same time, in the name of “development”, we destroy the wetlands, woodlands and farmlands that we will need ever more urgently to cope with climate damage.
