This session will explore the intersection of advancing climate change policy and implementation of on-the-ground action, referencing three projects the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation is leading to date, including:
· The advancement of natural infrastructure as a viable complement to grey infrastructure in urban planning for climate-resiliency
· The development of commercial real estate best practices for climate change resiliency
· The development and implementation of codes, standards and guidelines for new and existing communities to become flood-resilient
In this session, participants will come away with an increased awareness of the costs of climate change, understanding of specific case studies documenting on-the-ground action and learn how to communicate key benefits of natural infrastructure as a planning took to reduce flood risk.
