MW14: Explore the Evolving West Toronto Railpath Corridor

October 03, 2019

10:30AM - 1:30PM

Since the West Toronto Railpath opened, the neighbourhoods and communities alongside the Railpath have embraced this corridor as an important active transportation link. Participants will be taking a bike tour along the Railpath and learn about its history and planned expansion. This tour will also focus on the evolving nature of nearby neighbourhoods including High Park, the Junction, the Junction Triangle, Roncesvalles and Parkdale, and how they are adapting to changing commuting patterns, intensification and urban revitalization. This includes the path’s integration with nearby GO Transit and UP Express stations, and how communities are adopting to change in an increasingly populated and rapidly changing urban environment. Enjoy a casual and informative bike ride through some of Toronto’s most interesting neighbourhoods.

Please note: Since this bike tour will be an urban bike ride, participants should be familiar with the signals and rules of cycling on roads and should have a level of comfort cycling along city streets, and helmets are recommended.
