David Gordon is Professor in the School of Urban and Regional Planning in Queen’s University’s Department of Geography and Planning. He was SURP Director from 2008-2018 and also taught at McGill, Toronto, Ryerson, Western Australia, Harvard and Penn, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. David was previously an urban design firm principal and Toronto waterfront agency manager, sharing three CIP awards. He is a Fellow of the CIP and a founding director of the Council for Canadian Urbanism. David’s latest books are "Town & Crown" and "Planning Canadian Communities" (with Gerald Hodge). His research examines planning history and compares suburbs.
