WHAT TO KNOW DURING RENEWAL

RENEW ONLINE BY DECEMBER 31
You will have the option to pay your 2026 membership fees online by credit card, by sending us a cheque, or through the employer-paid option, in which case we will coordinate directly with your employer.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to renew your membership or download your invoice with the intent to renew by December 31 to avoid a lapse in membership and insurance coverage.

MEMBERSHIP FEES | ADJUSTMENT
For the first time in three years, OPPI Council approved a 3% increase to the membership fee, across all categories, for 2026. This carefully considered adjustment will enable us to continue delivering high-value services to members, including enhanced education and government relations programs, and strategic investment in career development initiatives. This increase also helps us manage rising costs from our suppliers and partners used to deliver programs and services.  Learn more about membership fees.

INSURANCE FEES | NO INCREASE
There will be no increase in your Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) premium ($81+ HST), which is covering from March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027.

**For NEW Full and Candidate members activating your membership after November 1, 2025: If you would like to get coverage between November 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026, please contact info@ontarioplanners.ca.

Policy Usage
Thousands of dollars of claims costs have been paid to defend and protect insured members. Insurance claims have been substantiated by actuarial analysis, and insurance premiums have been negotiated to keep the increase to the lowest amount acceptable. Premiums continue to be competitive, and coverage remains comprehensive across all aspects of the policy.

Questions?
If you have any question about your insurance policy, please contact OPPI’s insurance broker, BMS Canada, at 1-844-294-2714 or oppi.insurance@bmsgroup.com

IMPORTANT: As an RPP, you have a mandatory requirement to carry insurance (optional for Retired and Non-Practicing members). Be sure to renew your membership or download your invoice with the intent to renew by December 31 to avoid a lapse in membership and insurance coverage.

RENEW WITH OPPI & CIP
Through the OPPI membership renewal process, you will be able to choose if you also want to renew your membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) directly through OPPI in a single payment

CONSULTANTS DIRECTORY
As you are aware, a new and improved version of the Consultants Directory has been up and running. Learn more about the OPPI Consultants Directory.

During the renewal process, although the option of the Consultants Directory may be visible, you will not be able to purchase a listing for your company and will not incur any charges if you do inadvertently select that option.
