Building Community Resiliency

October 03, 2017

2:30pm-3:30pm

This session will highlight municipal programs and key processes for assessing risks, dependencies and resiliency to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change. Innovation in technologies and design approaches are critical to how we advance sustainability. But they require an understanding of best practices and what success and value look like in different communities. The presenters will highlight such considerations as access to critical dependencies and sustaining amenities, the carrying capacity of infrastructure in vulnerable neighbourhoods, and treating energy and water as commodities.

Learning Objectives:
• Gaining knowledge about best practices in advancing policy and project implementation for climate change.
• Understanding key approaches to developing policy and project implementation for climate change.
