The release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission report sets out an ambitious agenda, but It is going to take some fundamental changes to make sure that the dignity of First Nation peoples is recognized. Planners are integral to this change—more and more indigenous people are moving into cities; resource development in traditional territories depends on the consent and participation of Indigenous people and their communities; Aboriginal land claims require significant consultation.
