September 21 and 22
2 days, 2 disciplines, 2 ways to participate – defining our professional roles and uniting to build more equitable, accessible and inspired communities.
#2GETHER2022
Technology has allowed a more seamless interaction between planning and community engagement, creating greater opportunity for a wide range of stakeholders to be engaged throughout the planning and development process. Currently, websites, social media, and other tech platforms are used to mitigate the spread of misinformation in these processes. However, there is an opportunity for a more continuous and interactive feedback loop. This session will explore ways in which community engagement can leverage technology to stimulate greater participation through creating more accessible and effective tools used to inform the planning and development process, and what planners are doing right and areas of improvement in facilitating the most effective community engagement possible.
