Is the conference an in-person, or a virtual event?
  • This year’s conference is hybrid, meaning there are virtual and in-person elements! All sessions will be live and in person but will be available to our virtual audience. While we hope to see you live and in person in London this September, some individuals may instead opt to register and participate virtually, instead.
  • All registrants, in-person or virtual, will receive access to the online archive of session recordings (for the days they registered for) for 90 days after the event concludes.
When and where will the conference take place?
  • The Conference will occur on September 21-22, 2022, both virtually and in person at RBC Place London, 300 York Street, London, Ontario N6B 1P8.
How can I reserve a hotel room, and what are the rates?

What is the registration cost?

Will my dietary needs be accommodated?
OPPI/OALA strive to ensure that specific dietary needs from a health and safety, and religious or cultural perspective will be accommodated. When registering, please be sure to identify any specific dietary needs you may have.
What services are available for accessibility?
  • RBC Place London is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity and are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). More information here.
  • Additionally, all conference sessions will be recorded and made available virtually to registrants for 90 days after the event concludes.

Is the conference program available?
  • The conference program is available here. Please be advised that some program information may be subject to change.
Will there be networking opportunities available for virtual participants?
  • Yes. Virtual conference participants will have an opportunity to network with other event participants, who are participating online. Groups will be able to interact with a variety of industry professionals to relay shared experiences or simply chat. Virtual networking opportunities will be available through the online portal chat feature, attendees will be able to interact with each other via public chat in each room on the platform, as well as 1:1 private text or video chats. Networking opportunities will be aligned with the in-person lunch breaks and will be clearly labeled on the conference schedule.
Will all in-person sessions be available to virtual attendees?
  • The schedule for hybrid events will integrate live sessions from the in-person conference with the virtual participation. Demonstrations, hands-on workshops and other sessions that can only be effectively offered in person may not be offered virtually. Unless otherwise noted (*), all sessions will be available in-person and virtually.
When will I receive my link to the Virtual Platform?
  • A registration link will be sent to you by email 5 days prior to the event. Please check your junk folder if you do not receive the access email.
  • If you do not receive the email the day before the event, please contact oppi@absolutevents.com to have it re-sent to you.
Will there be safety procedures in place for in-person attendees?
  • OPPI/OALA are constantly monitoring guidelines put in place by the Ontario government surrounding COVID-19 safety measures. If there are any significant changes to the province’s safety guidelines as they relate to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will be sure to note through future communications what this means for in-person Conference delegates.   • Additional information concerning RBC Place’s guidelines: During these unprecedented days of recovery for the live events industry, it is fair to say that the industry is continuing to evolve and adapt. RBC Place London is focused on providing safe event space to host events and will continue to work collaboratively with clients to plan and execute their events within the thresholds established by the London and Middlesex Health Unit and all levels of Government. At the present time, RBC Place London is operating at 100% capacity with no event restrictions. 
Do I need to wear a face mask?
  • Per current provincial guidelines, delegates are not required to wear masks, however you are strongly encouraged to do so; OPPI/OALA fully support individuals who choose to continue to wear a mask.
  • Additionally, hand sanitizing stations will be positioned throughout the event space, and complimentary disposable face masks will be available on request.
What if I register for in-person attendance but need to change to virtual?
  • Registration cancellation fees have been waived for any cancellations received by September 2, 2022. If you register to attend in-person but would like to switch to virtual attendance after September 2, 2022 no refund will be offered as F&B guarantees would have been confirmed with venue, however you will be able to switch to virtual, please email oppi@absolutevents.com for more information.
Will all the conference sessions be recorded?
  • All sessions will be recorded and will be available to those who registered for that day of the event for 90 days after the conference. If you registered for the Full event, you will have access to all available content across both days.
Will there be engaging and networking opportunities?
  • Yes, the conference will include social and networking opportunities throughout the conference.  Details will be posted online as they are confirmed. Don’t forget to purchase tickets for 1NIGHT2UNITE, our joint social soiree awarding OPPI and OALA excellence. This is the awards party you won’t want to miss! Join us in person to network with your peers, rub shoulders with our award winners, and let loose. Food and drinks will be served. Tickets can be added onto your conference registration or purchased separately.
Will there be a virtual exhibit hall at this year’s conference?
  • There will be a virtual partner and exhibitor virtual directory and we look forward to welcoming partners and exhibitors in person, however all in-person partners and exhibitors will also have a virtual presence. For exhibit and sponsor questions, contact Jane Yuan at jane@absolutevents.com
How do I add a mobile workshop to my registration? Are mobile workshops included in conference registration?
  • You may register for mobile workshops when you register for the conference. Workshops are not included in conference registration and incur an additional fee.
Can I buy a separate ticket for the 1NIGHT2UNITE SOCIAL SOIRÉE?
  • Yes, you can purchase tickets for the 1NIGHT2UNITE SOCIAL SOIRÉE on its own through the registration link on the website or when registering for the full conference.
