Strategic Direction #1 in London's Downtown Plan is to make four downtown blocks of Dundas Street into the most exciting place in London.  Following a 5-year journey through public consultation, concept design, and construction, London's first "flex street" has now been operational for 3 years.

What's happened as planned and what hasn't?  How has its physical build and management addressed challenges that cut across expectations from multiple publics, mandates of service providers, and maintenance budgets?

This tour will be a low walk with multiple stops, guided by City of London Staff.  It will encompass commentary on the reasons behind the design choices made in the conception and construction of Dundas Place, answer questions regarding the intentions and reality regarding its multiple official and unofficial functions, and provide assessments of the costs and value of undertaking this major and unusual capital project in fulfilling several public policy aims.
