Jean-François Obregón is a Master of Planning in Urban Development student at X* University. He runs The Urban Hulk, a consultancy and blog focused on socially-responsible investing and urban planning. has over 10 years of experience in financial services, public policy, Cleantech, and media. He is the Executive Director of A Voice for Transit, an advocacy organization focused on transit equity in the Greater Toronto Area. He was previously a Lead Analyst at Sustainalytics, a responsible investment data provider, where he focussed on financial institutions and real estate. Jean-François published articles on investing in the circular economy, deforestation in Brazil's Amazon, and insuring natural disaster risks. His work has been featured in Corporate Knights and Morningstar Canada. He published The Time is Ripe, a report on new financial tools for urban parkland acquisition, with Prof. Nina-Marie Lister’s Ecological Design Lab at X* University. He holds an Honors in Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University, where he did an exchange term at the Rotterdam School of Management at Eramus University in The Netherlands. Jean-François held a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (Master’s) scholarship in 2020-2021. *The university is undergoing a renaming process to address the legacy of Egerton Ryerson.
