Jiya Benni is Project Manager at 8 80 Cities and currently leads the technical support component for Ontario School Streets Pilot project. An urban designer committed to creating equitable, sustainable, and resilient cities, she holds an M.Sc in Urbanism from TU Delft, The Netherlands and a B.Arch in Architecture from the University of Kerala, India. She is a great believer in the power of collaborative planning and placemaking in city-building, and currently sits on the Jane’s Walk Steering Committee and on the board of Sprout, a platform that connects communities to landscape architects.
