Larry Kotseff is a practicing professional planner and community builder in the Region of Waterloo. During his career, Larry has gained valuable insights into the challenges planners face, behavior of people and their motivations, and manner of conducting good business practices. His considerable public and private sector experience has provided him with a solid foundation to deal with the critical matters planners, builders, and developers continually face. Larry is currently the Vice-President of Real Estate Development with Solowave Investments based in Waterloo. He has also held prominent positions as Senior Executive Land Development (Fusion Homes, Guelph), Commissioner of Planning and Housing (Waterloo Region), Chief Administrative Officer (Guelph, New Westminster B.C., Clarington), and Director of Policy and Advocacy (Ontario Home Builders’ Association). Further to his professional planning contributions, Larry values the importance of volunteerism and giving back to the community. In addition, he has a passion for continuous learning as a part of life. Larry is currently studying at the University of Waterloo in the PhD Planning program. He has a keen interest in the planning profession, its focus, and the future directions he feels are required to deal with the challenges facing our cities.
