#2GETHER2022
Mark often leads, or is part of, multi-disciplinary teams involved with existing conditions analysis, concept development, detailed design and construction administration for parks and public realms, campus spaces, streetscapes, community plans, and commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. He is also responsible for the preparation of construction drawings and illustrative graphics to effectively communicate design solutions. Mark has designed outdoor spaces for some of the most recognizable sites in Waterloo Region, with an emphasis on accessibility, safety, and sustainability to reduce maintenance costs and impacts on the environment. A sessional instructor at the University of Guelph’s Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program, Mark introduces second year students to the process of site grading including survey techniques, grade change devices and requirements for providing barrier-free spaces, as well as methods to convey, capture and treat stormwater runoff. Mark also co-teaches introduction to landscape construction where students are provided exposure to design, preservation and cost considerations from the perspective of the Designer, Client and General Contractor through the Construction Documents, Tender and Contract Administration phases of the project process.
