Ryan has over 20 years of land development, planning, urban design, economic development and affordable housing experience gained in consulting and three local governments (Kitchener, Waterloo and Region of Waterloo). Ryan is Manager of Affordable Housing Development and responsible, with his teams, to advance affordable housing strategies (intra-municipal), facilitating affordable housing initiatives and projects with the goal to create 2,500 affordable homes by 2025. In addition to affordable housing, Ryan has worked as a Manager and Senior Advisor in economic development, as a Senior Planner, Site Plan Chair, Urban Designer and project manager. Ryan has enjoyed expanding his career as a past member of the OPPI Urban Design Sub-Committee, a past OPPI Course instructor and continues to contribute as guest lecturer at various post secondary institutions and forums. Ryan has an undergraduate degree in urban planning (UW) and a masters degree in urban design (UofT).
