Planners regularly engage in plan-making, are oftentimes contributing authors to many plans and are playing an increasingly vital role in developing local climate change plans. This session will provide critical information to help improve local climate change planning and plan-making. Participants will be introduced to the topic of plan quality, including the characteristics considered to be important contributors to good quality climate change plans. An evaluation of climate change plans from 63 of the most populous communities across Canada will be presented. This study provides information about the quality of local climate change plans on a national scale.
