Kristy Shortall, MCIP, RPP, LEED Green Associate is a Project Manager in MMM’s Planning and Environmental Design group, and an Associate of the firm. She has 9 years of experience in all facets of land use planning, including strategic planning, land use policy preparation and land development. She routinely manages challenging multi-disciplinary development projects involving official plan and zoning by-law amendments, plans of subdivision, site plans, consents and minor variances and regularly dispenses land use planning advice to private and public sector clients. Beyond land use approval work, Kristy’s also manages the preparation of development opportunity assessments, community strategic plans and long-range planning studies and provides expert evidence to the Ontario Municipal Board. As a LEED Green Associate, Kristy understands project needs and planning processes and frequently applies innovative environmental design strategies to her work.
 
Kristy has considerable experience in leveraging applied GIS tools to the full range of her planning projects, applying them strategically to better capture and analyze data and visualize results. She also applies these tools to develop and implement community and stakeholder engagement strategies and has successfully implemented various social media exercises for planning initiatives, such as online forums, online comment databases for the public, and web pages.
