Ontario is undergoing a paradigm shift to deal with climate change through a variety of actions. This session will focus on how to take action on climate change through planning for the built and natural environments in Ontario. Participants will learn what the Ontario government is currently doing to support climate change action through land use planning and what regional and local municipalities are doing to tackle climate change in their own jurisdictions. Discussion will focus on what planners can do to take action when making long-range policies, reviewing development applications, and informing councillors and residents about issues in their areas.
