Ken

Program Manager, Public Art and Projects, City of Hamilton

Ken Coit is Program Manager of Public Art and Projects for the City or Hamilton. A graduate of the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, he worked in private architectural practice for ten years before joining the City of Hamilton Planning Department. Ken has developed policy for secondary plans and the city’s official plan. He has completed many urban design studies and guidelines, including the City of Hamilton City Wide Corridor Planning Principles and Design Guidelines supporting Hamilton’s  LRT project. Since taking a lead role in Hamilton’s public art program in 2010 he has commissioned and installed over twenty public art projects. He is a passionate advocate for ensuring that the public has a role in the making of public space. Ken in presently undertaking a review and update of the City of Hamilton’s Public Art Master Plan.
