Urban Design + Transportation Leader, Perkins + Will (Toronto)

An architect and urban designer, Paul is also a Principal at Perkins+Will’s Toronto studio and serves as the local Urban Design lead. His work for both public and private sector clients is shaped by a strong commitment to the public realm and a deep understanding of the roles social equity and economics play in city building.
 
Over his 16-year career, Paul has led a diverse list of award-winning projects for key public spaces, vibrant mixed-use neighbourhoods and urban infrastructure, including the EGLINTONconnects streetscape design, the Downtown Hamilton Tall Building Guidelines, and the Kipling Mobility Hub. Paul is currently leading the Yonge-Eglinton Built Form Study and the new Design Excellence Guidelines for GO Transit.
Research forms a key part of Paul’s work and he has been invited to contribute to several publications on Tower Renewal and sustainability in affordable housing. He is also a frequent public speaker and organizer, presenting on topics of sustainable community design, public health and active transportation.
