PhD Student, The Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation at University of Toronto

My professional background includes working in the fields of landscape architecture and architecture, in Toronto and London (UK). The local and international projects I have worked on range from civic, athletic, historic, and corporate parks, city-wide master plans, transportation infrastructure, to commercial and residential buildings.  It is from my experiences that has led me to believe scientific evidence and natural landscape are important instruments for optimizing the health of communities. Evidence-based built environments can improve the health services system, as they have the potential to prevent illness and restore health on micro, meso, and macro levels.  My research aims to synthesize and build evidence on how the natural environments influence health and well-being of residents and staff in long-term care home communities.
