Heritage Planner, City of Toronto

Sharon Hong is a heritage planner at the City of Toronto. Sharon began her planning career at a heritage consulting firm in Toronto, where she worked on a range of projects from strategic planning and policy initiatives to development planning. Her experience includes producing heritage conservation district studies and plans across the GTA and Ontario, developing adaptive re-use strategies and preparing heritage impact assessments for large-scale development projects. Sharon has been recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Asian Planning Schools Association for outstanding research pertaining to heritage conservation districts and minority narratives in North America and the modernization of heritage contexts in Asia. Sharon holds a Master's of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto.
 
Sharon currently manages a number of heritage conservation district projects for the City of Toronto, including Kensington Market and West Queen Street West.
