This session will outline how using goods and services of nature—aka green infrastructure—can build strong foundations for communities. It will highlight programs, policies and uses of green infrastructure from recent research in rural communities that offer insights into built infrastructure, economic well-being, and social capacity/equity. Participants will learn about green infrastructure mechanisms that provide multi-functional benefits to human as well as natural communities. Examples include rural non-point source stormwater management, waste water treatment, tree planting, and re-naturalization projects. Learning Objectives:
