201A: Official Plan Building Blocks for Resiliency

This presentation would profile an adopted official plan amendment that provides a leading example in resiliency planning. In 2016, the City of Oshawa adopted a comprehensive conformity amendment, which advanced key building blocks required for to gain resiliency to climate change. Watershed plans for several watersheds in Oshawa were integrated into the official plan resulting in both detailed mapping and environmental policy directions for natural heritage protection, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, invasive species and natural hazard management.
