501: Assessing Community Readiness: Implement Ag System in GGH & Beyond

Agriculture provides 1 in 9 jobs (Statistic Canada) in the Greater Golden Horseshoe today. This session will focus on how the Greater Golden Horseshoe’s agricultural systems approach can be implemented in your community. Presenters will identify a suite of economic development tools that can be used to help create a thriving agri-food sector. Community readiness varies from one community to another. They will also identify tools that can be used to assess readiness anid match community capacity with actions. Communities that use innovative planning and economic development approaches and resources will be highlighted.

  • Understand how to assess community readiness and how to implement the agricultural systems approach
  • Gain knowledge of methods for accelerating community readiness
  • Gain knowledge about agriculture as a driver in the economy
