Kiran Chhiba, Associate, BES (Planning), MUD, RPP, MCIP
 
Kiran is an urban designer and registered planner with a diverse range of experiences in both the public and private sector. Throughout his career, he has focused on the progressive change in physical planning and design on a variety of scales. This includes the design interface between built form and the public realm. Through these exercises Kiran has actively engaged in architectural, landscape architectural, planning, infrastructural and consultation led projects, under a wider variety of contexts. These complex assignments are commonly multi-disciplinary and showcase a number of diverse opportunities and challenges. His work has included interesting and challenging assignments both in Canada and around the world, with a range from large scale master planning to detailed design. Kiran has also been engaged on a number of design competitions in an effort to continually engage in creative and inventive solutions to improve the physical environment. As part of the team that won the Downtown Pratt Street Design Competition (Baltimore, Maryland) in 2007, Kiran has also been a key part of the ULI Toronto Chapter’s inaugural design competition winning entry “Inundation” for Toronto’s Central Waterfront in 2015, as well as part of the shortlisted StossDillon team for London’s “Back to the River” International Design Competition in 2016.
 
Recently Kiran has also been appointment to the City of Hamilton’s Design Review Panel for 2016. In addition to professional experience, Kiran has also been invited to adjunct positions, at both the University of Toronto and the University of Pennsylvania, while continuing to focus on his research interests.
