Originally from Northampton, England, Michael is Director of Planning for the Town of Grimsby; Previously, he was a Manager of Heritage Planning with the Town of Oakville, and a Senior Heritage Planner with the City of Markham and Community Planner with the Town of Aurora. All four communities were winners of the Prince of Wales Prize for Municipal Heritage Leadership. Michael also served previously as Chair of the Brampton Heritage Board and President of the Brampton Historical Society. Michael is contributing editor for heritage for the Ontario Planning Journal, a regular contributor to Municipal World and currently serves as Ontario Governor on the Board of the National Trust for Canada.
