Robert Voigt is an award winning Registered Professional Planner practicing for over 20 years in governmental and private sector organizations in Canada and the US. He has a well-documented record of projects that have broken new ground and been recognized internationally in healthy community design, and community engagement. He is a senior practitioner in Planning, Landscape Architecture & Urban Design at WSP Canada, Chair of the OPPI Planning Issues Strategy Group, and Contributing Editor at the Ontario Planning Journal. His practice includes projects that successfully leverage community assets, and build organizational capacity. Specializing in healthy community design; placemaking strategies; community economic development and municipal ROI strategies; and innovative stakeholder engagement. Robert is frequently invited as a keynote/guest speaker and to conduct workshops at international, national and provincial conferences. Robert has written over 30 articles for publications such as Municipal World, Ontario Planning Journal; APA Journal and Plan Canada and has twice been featured on CBC Radio’s Spark. Robert’s work is featured in the recent book 12 Strategies for Re-Energizing Your Community, and has also been adopted by Blue Zones for their community design work throughout the United States.
