Facing change and guiding Ontario into the next quarter century
Carolyn has been a Registered Professional Planner and a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners since 1996. Carolyn holds a Master's of Planning (M.PL) from Queen's University (1992) and an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from Laurentian University (1990). Carolyn has been an instructor of Geography at Nipissing University since 2011, teaching courses in International Development, Environmental Impact Assessment, Geography of Canada and Advanced Biogeography. Carolyn has over twenty five years experience as a planner in Ontario having worked at the Provincial, Regional and local municipal levels. In addition, Carolyn has worked at various provincial ministries and municipalities in both northern and southern Ontario. Carolyn has represented the Ministry of Municipal Affairs as an expert witness at the Ontario Municipal Board and the Region of Halton at the Ontario Court of Justice. Carolyn has conducted several Environmental Impact Assessments and worked on several Official Plan Reviews with particular emphasis on Natural Heritage Systems and natural resource issues in Ontario. Carolyn is currently pursuing a Ph.D in geography at Queen's University.
