Catherine Jay is the Head of the Urban Design Department at SGL. As a Landscape Architect/Urban Designer and reregistered Planner, with over 23 years of experience Catherine’s skills and knowledge range from parks planning and design, and site design, to master planning and secondary plans. Bringing 20 years public sector experience, Catherine has led complex, multi- disciplinary projects and teams, along with managing the preparation of community design plans, precinct plans, streetscape plans, architectural control guidelines, and urban design guidelines. Her secondary plan experience has kept her up to date on regulations, development related legislation, Regional and Municipal By-laws, and Provincial Policy. Catherine has prepared budgets, requests for proposals and managed projects within budget and scope. With a strategic approach Catherine is able to use the design process to solve problems and provide sustainable solutions. Catherine has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph and is a full member of OPPI, CIP, OALA and CSLA.
