Maria Flores is the Manager of Sustainability at the Town of Richmond Hill. She has worked in land use planning and environmental management for the past 20 years at the conservation authority, provincial and municipal level. Maria has been involved in a wide range of planning policy, environmental management and community visioning projects including past Provincial Policy Statements, the Oak Ridges Moraine and Greenbelt Plans, Richmond Hill’s Strategic Plan and Official Plan, Richmond Hill’s Civic Precinct visioning process and concept plan, the Town’s Environment Strategy and its ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. She currently leads a team responsible for broad-scale environmental initiatives including education and outreach and advancing the Town’s climate change mandate.
