Robert Glover is an Architect and Urban Planner in Toronto, and is a Partner in the planning and urban design firm of Bousfields Inc. He has a Bachelor of Architecture (1975) from the University of Toronto and was a CMHC Travelling Scholar (1974), a Goulstone Fellow and Toronto Architectural Guild Medalist (1975). He has an MBA (2000) from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School. Robert is a member of the Ontario Association of Architects and a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (2013). He is also a professional planner and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
In 1998, Robert was appointed as the first Urban Design Director of the amalgamated City. During this period, he was responsible for setting up the new urban design program, developing the urban design visions of the new Toronto Official Plan and the new Waterfront Plan, and for the design competition leading to Yonge - Dundas Square. He was also active in the Sustainable Santiago project in Santiago Chile for CIDA and ICLEI.
In 2001, Robert took a position with the IBI Group, where he worked on planning projects in Toronto and abroad, including the Middle East.
In 2003, he joined Bousfields Inc. where much of his work has focused on the urban design of urban intensification and transformation. Over the past 15 years Robert has consulted on many of the most significant urban redevelopment and intensification projects in the Toronto area, including projects in the Waterfront, the Downtown, the Distillery District, the Midtown and along the Yonge Street corridor.
Robert Glover has frequently taught and been a studio critic at the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture.
