September 21 and 22
2 days, 2 disciplines, 2 ways to participate – defining our professional roles and uniting to build more equitable, accessible and inspired communities.
For many communities across Ontario, the need for affordable housing is exceeding the supply. While there is no single approach or policy that will address this complex issue, and all communities are tackling the challenge differently, several policy approaches are being used to help expand the affordable housing supply. Options include regulatory changes, planning policy, financial incentives, and direct provision and partnerships.
This session explores several policies and tools aimed at encouraging both private and/or private non-profit providers to create new affordable housing. The session also provides insight into their potential impact in the development of affordable housing and shares examples of where such tools and policies are being implemented across Ontario.
