#2GETHER2022
It has long been recognized that environmental charities and non-profits make significant contributions to their local community and to the larger global society. However, very little academic attention has examined the contribution that environmental charities make to Atlantic Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador more specifically.
This presentation will provide a brief overview of the current state of rural philanthropy and environmental giving in Newfoundland and Atlantic Canada. By the end of this presentation, participants will have learned some of the challenges and opportunities faced by rural environmental charitable organizations. As well as potential actions to expand giving in this sector to contribute to environmental and community resiliency in their local communities.
